Counselling is not quick fix and involves collaboration between clients and counsellors where sessions are organised based on the complexity of the issues that may be presented.
Engage and Empower provides a safe space for our clients to be heard, validated, supported and empowered during the session so clients can be confident in the actions they would like to engage in.
We highlight the emotional, personal and intellectual experience of clients, how they feeling, what they think about the issues they have sought help for and assist clients to develop their own understanding of their situation.
Spending time with a counsellor can give clients the opportunity to express difficult feelings such as anger, resentment, guilt, shame and fear in a confidential environment and explores ways to overcome these intense feelings.
We empower clients to make effective decisions leading to positive change in attitude and/or behaviour enabling clients to make their own choices and ultimately reach their own decisions which will be beneficial to them.
We provide the following types of counselling:
Supportive Counselling
The goal is not to create a chronic dependency upon the counsellor, but to provide temporary support and help the clients gain strength and the resources to cope with issues and challenges while standing alone amid their problems.
Preventative Counselling
Assisting the clients recognise the issues and challenges before its starts to gets worse. These can be helpful if client is going through health issues, setting goals for retirement or future planning.
Confrontational Counselling
This can be helpful when clients want healing from past actions that could have led to disruption in relationships causing hurt, anger, frustration, guilt and anxiety.
Educative Counselling
Assisting clients recognise limited set of behaviours that they are accustomed to that can be detrimental in the long term and replacing these behaviours with long lasting rewarding behaviours.
Spiritual Counselling
Assisting clients discover their inner strengths and purpose in life. This type of counselling can be helpful for clients who are also religious and looking to strengthen their beliefs leading them to be closer to the higher power.
